Highly Equipped

With over 7500 KW of applied resistance heat at our disposal, Verispex is able to manufacture electrical resistance heating elements in a range of sizes to suit a wide array of applications. Our electrical resistance heat treatment services include onsite preheating; hydrogen de-gassification; and post-weld heat treatment of pipework, welded fabrications, and pressure vessels.

Verispex’s electrical resistance heating elements are manufactured in a range of sizes to suit an array of applications and are connected to either low-voltage (65-volt) or high-voltage (240-volt) power sources. Each low-voltage power source is rated at 50 kva, has a minimum of 6 individually controllable outlets, and can power a maximum of 18 heaters of 2.7 KW.

Temperature is controlled via pre-programmable microprocessor-based modules; temperature measurement made by pre-calibrated digital temperature recorders all calibrated in accordance with national standards.

Preserve and Protect

The use of Verispex high-velocity burners is an effective method of curing and driving out moisture from refractory materials.

Verispex uses high-velocity burners fired by either LPG or diesel oil for the onsite heat treatment of large fabrications, pressure vessels, and temporary furnaces.

High-velocity fuel applications include:

  • Caustic or sulfuric liquid storage tanks
  • Reactor vessels
  • Hydro-active vessels
  • LPG storage spheres
  • Steel furnaces

Working under carefully controlled conditions, we eliminate the risk of damage that can be caused by spalling and thereby extend the life of the refractory.

An Economical Alternative

Verispex has developed transportable, lightweight, low-thermal-mass temporary furnace installations for the post-weld heat treatment of large-pressure vessels and fabrications. These furnaces are designed as a fast, convenient, cost-effective alternative to permanent furnaces and the high cost of transporting components to fixed installations. Temporary furnaces can be equipped with either gas- or oil-fired burner systems and both temperature control and distribution are equal to, or better than, most fixed furnace installations.

Maximum Flexibility with Minimal Downtime

We have extensive experience in controlled heating and ventilation for the drying of specialized linings. Expert Verispex technicians use state-of-the-art equipment: digital process controllers, fully proportional fuel actuators, and solid-state features to remove moisture while strictly monitoring heating rates to ensure against damage to lining materials.
